How to choose the most profitable niche

You have millions of niche topics in your head, but you are without a clue which is most profitable for you.

It was the same for me when I started blogging.

Starting a blog is easy but deciding which niche to go for takes a lot of time and effort.

You might be wondering why can’t you just pick any niche and start writing on that? Well, that’s not gonna work and I am here to tell you why.

What is a niche?

Niche is a specific topic around which your whole blog revolves.

All your posts will be filled with content focused on specific problems that will cater to a specific audience.

Now the question arises is that why your blog needs to stick to a few niches when you can serve all types of audiences.

To understand this let’s dig deeper:

Why Niche is utmost required?

Niche was one of the major factors due to which my first blog failed.

I was blogging for food audience along with beauty products, you would think this is a perfect combo, right?

I was creating posts filled with tons of valuable beauty tips and tricks along with plenty of amazing food recipes from around the world.

But with all these, I made ZERO in total income. BIG ZERO!

So I decide that its time to take a step back and understand why this is happening.

After looking thoroughly through my analytics, what I observed was, the audience who were looking for delicious recipes loved my post but were turned off seeing other posts and offers related to beauty products.

At this point, I understood that in the initial stage of blogging you need to first start with few niches and always can expand afterward.

Let's go through a few of the important benefits you can get by deciding which niche to pick.

Makes your content more valuable

If you are only blogging around one topic, then the content on your blog will automatically be aligned to a specific audience only.

This allows you to go deeper into the topic at a level where other bloggers have not reached and this is exactly what your audience is looking for.

On the contrary, if you blog about multiple topics then you need to create a ton of contents to fully cover those topics in-depth.

Having a single niche means fewer things to focus on, which leads to more genuine and valuable content that your audience will love.

In short, it gives you more time, so your content is more close to being perfect.

Makes you an expert

Right now, you are researching a lot about how to find a perfect niche, right?

During this process, you have might have come across plenty of blogs and after reading one or two posts from their blogs you can estimate the level of expertise they have in that specific domain.

So, out of all those blogs which blog would you prefer to stick around with?

Obviously, the one with the expert voice, right?

When you are blogging about few topics then your head will revolve around those topics only, constantly learning and reading about that single topic only, allowing you to discover new strategies to solve complex problems, making you an expert on it.

When your audience will come to your blog, they will read your post and realize that it is so much valuable and would like to read something more from your blog.

This way, they go for another post and then another and after reading everything on your blog(since they just can't stop reading your valuable contents), I’m sure they will say to themselves, “this gal knows everything about this topic”.

So, you tell me, don’t you think that these readers will want to stick around your blog?

Brings loyal readers

Since you will be creating content revolving around a single niche only, you will slowly understand all that is for that topic, making you an expert.

Once you are fully versed in that topic you can easily help your audience with the problems that they are facing, complex problems requiring strong knowledge of that topic.

If they are suffering from some complex problems in your niche then definitely they would like to take your advice instead of some other blogger.

They will email you or comment on your blog, will try to engage with you.

This way each of your readers individually will feel, understand and appreciate that you care for them.

And this creates a more profound trusting bond between you and your readers, a very important factor if you want your blog to grow beyond limits.

Which niche is most profitable

When it comes to niche there are only two questions that you need to ask yourself.

Are there other successful bloggers in this niche?

If there are other bloggers in this niche that have successfully monetized their blog, then most of the factors to be considered when choosing niche are already cleared.

Having successful bloggers in that niche means that there is already an existing audience looking for that content that these bloggers provide. Meaning this niche is in demand!

So, the question of picking a niche that has an audience looking for it is cleared.

If you pick a niche where there is a successful blogger then the second question of picking a niche that can be monetized is also cleared since other bloggers are already making money in that niche.

So, it is always best to go for that niche in which there are already successful bloggers.

Some people try to pick that niche which is brand new, this is mistake. Why?

Because don’t you think that with billion blogs out there, no one would have noticed and tried to monetize that niche?

Of course, they have, and they failed and that is the reason no one is blogging on that niche.

If you think that the niche, you are interested in is overcrowded and your voice will go unheard, then let me tell you that you are wrong.

If that niche is saturated and still there are other bloggers making money means that there is a part of the audience which is not satisfied with content those bloggers are putting out.

This creates an opportunity where you can give your perspective and more value to existing content out there.

Believe me, having successful bloggers in a niche gives you enough validation for that niche to be profitable.

But, just because you found that there are other bloggers not good enough, there is another question that you need to answer next.

Are you passionate about that topic?

Being passionate is everything in the blogging world.

If you are passionate about your niche, then even with a busy schedule you will provide quality content, look for ways to increase your blog traffic, learn new strategies and implement those right away.

But all these start with your passion.

If you are not passionate about your niche, then eventually your “WILL” to the blog will fade away.

You don’t need to be an expert in that niche, but you definitely should have a passion to learn more and more about it.

Pick niches that are closely related, go for one that you are passionate about and already have witnessed successful bloggers blogging about it.
