How to start your profitable blog

I know there are plenty of posts out there on how to start a blog, but I always feel they leave readers hanging in the end, with no proper direction on what to do next

In this post, I have tried to include all that you need to start your blog right away, making it simple and straight for you to grasp and implement.

I have also provided additional information so that you can check those posts to figure out what you should do next.

Choosing your Blog Topic

Now you might have plenty of blogging topics in your mind or none at all.

All of that doesn’t matter much.

To identify which topic will be best for you, you need to do research on which topics other bloggers are blogging on.

Out of these topics you need to choose those ones that you love to read about.

When I started blogging, I looked up all the bloggers that I idolized and took notes on how successful they are.

This process helped me in narrowing down the topics of my interest.

Going by this rule has many benefits:

Firstly, and most importantly, it gives you validation!

If you choose a niche that has no demand, no one looking for anything in that domain then even if you creates amazing content on those topics, no one will come to read about that.

Picking a topic in with there are other successful bloggers gives you validation that those topics are in demand.

And later on, when you create something on that topic there is a high chance of someone coming to your blog to read about that.

It also gives you validation on the profitability of that niche.

If other bloggers are making money in that domain then certainly there are ways for you to be able to do the same.

The second most important thing is you need to have a PASSION for your selected topic.

There are many bloggers that have started blogging and created a bunch of posts but then after a few months, they disappeared and went silent.

The main reason is that they went after the quick cash strategy without being passionate about topics they were writing on.

Almost all the successful bloggers have started their journey by doing something they are passionate about.

The duration between starting your blog and time you start making money out it generally varies from blogger to blogger.

And this period is toughest for all bloggers and if you have picked a domain that you enjoy reading about, learning more about it, then during this period you will not get bored and leave blogging.

You will continue blogging because you love it and slowly you will gain success.

Moreover, once you have an established blog and you decided to add more topics to your blog, you can totally do it.

This all being said, if you are passionate about your chosen topic and there are other bloggers writing in the same domain then you are all set with for your niche.

Selecting your domain name

There are a few things that need attention when you are trying to pick your domain name.

Either you can choose a domain name that includes your niche topic like BLOGGINGDELIGHTS, SHEMEANSBLOGGING or prefer something that is totally different like ROOTANDLEVEL, STRAYCURLS.

Many people use top keywords in the domain like blogging or money etc. like me, but it doesn’t matter much.

Remember that people are coming to your blog to read your content and not to judge your domain name.

But it is of utmost importance to choose a professional and elegant domain name.

Once people will start seeing the value that you provide in your content, your domain itself will become memorable for your readers.

That would be awesome, right?

However, there are a few things that you should not do at all:

First being, do not use hyphens. Using hyphens will make your domain look phony and spammy.

Second being, always go for “.com” domain if possible and none other.

Having something else like .net, .info or even .co doesn’t give out positive vibes.

The third being, it should be as short and easy to memorize as possible.

Picking your hosting

You might be tempted to go for the free blog hosting.

One of the major problems and pretty easy to understand with free hosting is that your blog URL will be something like xxxxx.wordpress.com or xxxxx.blogspot.com which is bad since most people see your blog as spammy and unprofessional and will go away.

Also, have you looked at their blog designs? so much worse.

It's not their fault, the free blogging platform comes with tremendous limitations and there is a narrow scope of improvement with those limitations.

If you have no technical expertise like me then you definitely need to go with Bluehost.

I am saying this because you will always be spending a lot of your time on your blog content and writing emails etc. and you definitely won’t have time to waste on the technical side of your blog.

You positively need to find such a platform that is easy to maintain and is widely used.

Why “widely used”, because it will have large community users, so when you need help, you can easily find other people who faced the same problems and connect with them to resolve your issues quickly.

I will absolutely love Bluehost because it’s quick, efficient, cost-effective and reliable.

Not only do they have 24/7 customer support, but they also give you a money-back guarantee if you’re not happy.

Special about this deal is that when you go with Bluehost, it provides you with a free domain with it, isn’t it great!

Right now, I have a $3.95 Special Price Offer giving my readers a 50% discount OFF to the regular price $7.99. Before this special offer expires, click here on this affiliate link to get started with Bluehost
